Herbal Hair Rinses – Make Your Own!

When taking care of your hair, it is not enough to just buy a good shampoo. In addition, a number of other procedures are necessary. Before we start making rinses from herbs and other plants, we should decide what we want to get from them. Get rid of dandruff, eliminate oiliness or just strengthen hair ?

This is necessary in order to select the right ingredients . And one more nuance. Any of the rinses prepared at home on the basis of herbs cannot give you an instant result. Due to this reason, the minimum period of use of such rinses is one month. You should stop using them ahead of time only if an allergic reaction occurs.

So,

1. If you are bothered by dandruff or an excessively oily scalp, then a tansy rinse can help you with this . To prepare such a rinse, pour 20 g of chopped herb with 500 ml of boiling water, cover and leave for about 2 hours.

We rinse our hair with the strained infusion.

2. There are wonderful products that will not only take care of our hair, but also have a slight coloring effect .

For example,  decoctions of are suitable for dark hair.

  • birch leaves and buds,
  • burdock roots,
  • calendula flowers,
  • hop cones,
  • from pomegranate peel,
  • oak bark, etc.

For light hair, decoctions of

  • chamomile flowers
  • and nettle leaves.

Such decoctions/infusions do not necessarily need to be washed off after use.

2.1. Lightening with chamomile: 40 g of chamomile flowers should be poured with 1 liter of clean water and put on the fire, after boiling, reduce the heat and cook for about 5 more minutes.

2.2. Toning for dark hair: 20 g finely chopped burdock roots + 40 g calendula flowers. Mix everything thoroughly and pour 500 ml of purified water, put on the fire and boil, then reduce the heat and cook for another 15-20 minutes.

This remedy will also help to cope with dandruff .

3. An excellent remedy for oily hair is lemon juice . Squeeze the juice from half a lemon and dilute it with 1000 ml of boiled or purified water.

4. Herbal hair conditioner. To prepare it, you should mix together in equal quantities

  • nettle leaves
  • + hop cones
  • + horsetail
  • + coltsfoot leaves
  • + calamus roots.

Mix everything thoroughly and pour 1000 ml of boiling water over 40 g of this mixture, bring to a boil and let it brew for about 20 minutes.

5. For elasticity and shine of hair, a rowan rinse is suitable . 40-50 g of dried rowan berries should be poured with 500 ml of water, put on the fire, boil and cook for another 5 minutes.

All of the above recipes should be prepared in advance and in such a way that the product has time to cool before you finish washing your hair.
